Marilyn Ann Adams' Obituary
On February 13, 2023, Marilyn Ann Adams passed from this world to Eternal life with her Lord, just shy of her 86th birthday. Born on the 24th of February, 1937 in Remus, Marilyn was the first child welcomed by her parents Chester and Esther (Edmonds) Davis. She was the mother hen to her younger three siblings as the family grew throughout the years.
A graduate of the Remus High School, Marilyn met and married her sweetheart, Edward Vaughn Adams in 1954. Together they grew their family to include four daughters and a son, eventually living in Connecticut for 20 years. Marilyn fostered an artistic side in her avid painting, tending a flourishing flower garden, and sharing her eye for colors and textures in her upholstery business.
Following the loss of Edward in 2001, Marilyn returned to the area, settling in Mecosta where she became very involved in her beloved place of worship, Chapel of the Lakes Lutheran Church. Always putting her best face and foot forward, Marilyn was artistic even down to the way she presented herself in a classy manner. A very proud grandmother, Marilyn’s favorite way to spend time was with the grands who came before anything else.
She could be found cheering on her favorite sports teams, especially the Tigers and anything MSU. Marilyn’s absence will be felt by her loving family and many friends.
Preceding Marilyn in death are her husband, Edward, son Vaughn E. Adams, and her parents.
Left to carry on her memory are daughters, Vicky (Paul) Hunter, Kathleen (Tim) Phelps, Colleen (Ken) Folkertsma, and Melanie (Emilio) Battaglino; grandchildren, Tim (Sai) Hunter, Matthew (Keegan) Hunter, Darcy (Kiley) Keener, Scott (Micaela) Phelps, Jonathan Squires, Jared Squires, Ashley Battaglino, Dylan Battaglino, and Cassie Battaglino; great-grandchildren, Liam ,Lyra, Hawkins, and Hazel Hunter, Kai, Asa, and Cora Jo Keener, Emma, Eli, and Charlotte Phelps, Macy and Lily Squires, and Alexis Cavallaro; siblings, Barb Davis, Linda Schmidt, Richard (Betty) Davis; several nieces and nephews, with special mention for niece Kelly Mursch who spent time with her on a daily basis.

Viewing will be held Thursday evening from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Janowicz Family Funeral Home in Remus, and again on Friday morning from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the church.
