Marilyn "Mary" Helen Hunt's Obituary
Edmore- Marilyn Helen Hunt, age 65, of Greenville passed away on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, at Golden Life Assisted Living in Greenville. Mary, as she was known, was born January 31, 1960, to parents Paul and Helen Hunt. At three pounds, the newborn Mary was sent home to be raised by her aunt Beatrice and uncle Maurice with whom she thrived in the Edmore area. She attended the Special Education program at Edmore schools, which she loved. Mary participated in the Special Olympics, workshop programs, and even washed the dishes at Pizza Hut through the years. She lived a long time on her own in Stanton, leaning on her street smarts and the many compassionate people who helped her to make the most of her life. Some of her favorite people were the Montcalm County deputies and specialists at Montcalm Area ISD. With the encouragement and support of her dear friend, Bob, Mary became a well-loved member of the Stanton Congregational Church. In truth she made many friends in Stanton over the years, so many that she could hardly go anywhere without running into someone she knew, whether it be from 40 years ago or just a couple of years back. Mary enjoyed rides around Baldwin Lake, tours of Deer Tracks Junction, being in the Danish Festival Parade, and a good ice cream cone.Mary is survived by her half-sister Daisy Anglin; niece and nephews Steven Hunt, Kevin (Lori) Johnson, Terry Johnson, Becky (Craig) Shatruck; cousins Aneta Pendell, Richard (Crystal) Pendell, Randall Pendell; and her closest and most helpful friend, Bob Brundage, who knew her as well as anyone.Mary was preceded in death by her parents, aunt and uncle who raised her, half-brother and sisters Paul (Diane) Hunt and Bonnie (Terry) Johnson.A time of remembrance will be held for Mary on Sunday, March 2, 2025, from 2:00 - 4:00 PM at Brigham Funeral Chapel in Edmore. Those wishing to express condolences are encouraged to use the guestbook at www.brighamfuneralchapel.com
