Marjorie V. Bobowik's Obituary
Big Rapids - Marjorie V. Bobowik, 98, of Big Rapids, passed away Saturday, January 12, 2019, at Metron of Big Rapids.
She was born August 29, 1920, in Blanchard, the daughter of Clarence and Effie (VanAlstine) Stafford, and lived in the Big Rapids area most of her life. Marge worked as a waitress for Bower's and Casa Nova restaurants, and also worked for a time at Wolverine World Wide.
At age 84, Marge became a Senior Companion to the residents at Altercare of Big Rapids. She enjoyed playing Kismet and cards, especially Pinochle and Euchre. Marge was a fan of country music, and loved to dance!
She is survived by one son, Allen Mosher of Big Rapids; one daughter, Deborah Borst of Big Rapids; 8 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 15 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Marge was preceded in death by 2 daughters, Viola Szpiech and Linda McDonald; a son-in-law Stanley Szpiech, a daughter-in-law Patricia Mosher, a grandson Stephen Szpiech, her sisters Ruth Raub, Thelma Ferris, Evelyn Stafford, Genevieve Korsky, Linnie Rooker, Opal Voss, and Virginia Sebela; her step- brother Vernon Hileman, and her special friend Wayne Frary.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 16, 2019, at the Mohnke Funeral Home in Big Rapids. Burial will be in the West Cemetery in Green Township. Marge's family will greet friends at the funeral home from 4 - 7 p.m. on Tuesday, January 15, and prior to services on Wednesday. Memorial contributions in her name may be made for the Alzheimer's Association, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
