Marjorie Lucille Sanders' Obituary
Stanwood- Marjorie Lucille Sanders, 83, of Stanwood, went to be in the presence of her Lord on Saturday, July 12, 2014 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on August 17,1930 in Traverse City, the daughter of Reverend Benjamin G. and Bessie P. (Lowe) Wyma. Marjorie and her family lived in several towns in northern Michigan while her father pastored many churches. She graduated in 1949 from Big Rapids High School. On January 6, 1950 Marjorie married Arthur James Sanders and they made their home in Stanwood. Marjorie and Jim had a daughter Shari Lyn who had special needs. Marjorie cared for her in their home most of her life of 20 years. She was a long time active member of Stanwood Free Methodist Church. Marjorie was known as Grandma Marge to many children who grew up in the church. In retirement Marjorie and Jim traveled around the country with their travel trailer volunteering with SOWERS. She is survived by Jim, her husband of 64 years, one son Allan James (Linda) Sanders of Stanwood, two grandchildren, Amy (Rob) Nielsen of Stanwood and Aaron (Rachel) Sanders of Grand Rapids, seven precious great grandchildren, Andrew, Alyssabeth, Rebekah and Matthew Sanders and John, Ben and Kinsley Nielsen, plus two nephews. Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter Shari and one brother George Wyma and sister-in-law Verda Wyma. Funeral services for Marjorie will be today at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 15 at the Stanwood Free Methodist Church with Pastors Wayne Bullock and Wayne Cash officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Stanwood Free Methodist Church or Spectrum Health Hospice.
