Mark Allan Olsson's Obituary
Mark Allan Olsson, age 64, of Lakeview passed away at his home on Tuesday, October 8, 2024, surrounded by his family. He was born in Clare on March 23, 1960, the son of Kenneth and Judith (VanSyckle) Olsson. Mark was raised in the Rodney area and attended Chippewa Hills schools. He was employed as a home builder until his retirement in 2012. Mark married the love of his life, Peggy Maguire, on August 29, 1987, in Six Lakes. He enjoyed fishing and loved hunting, but his passion was trapping. Mark was a talented builder, butcher and small engine repairman. He was a spectacular father, teaching his 3 daughters all the life skills needed to take care of themselves. Mark was an amazing husband and true companion who was always ready for any adventure at the drop of a hat. He was willing to help anyone, trusted everyone, and chose to see only the good in people. Mark's common sense and outstanding sense of humor will be remembered by everyone he called friend.Mark will forever be missed and is survived by his wife of 37 years, Peggy Olsson of Lakeview; daughters, Jennifer Olsson of Indiana, Patricia (Brad Grover) Olsson of Hastings, Brooke (Joe) Lauber of Mt. Pleasant; 3 grandchildren, Chelsey, Alex, Cassidy; siblings, Ronald (Bambi) Olsson of Stanwood, Donald Olsson of Blanchard, Judy Ann (Jon) Brickman of Stanwood, Randy (Rhonda) Olsson of Rodney; in-laws, Diann Maguire of Lakeview, Jeff (Sue) Maguire of Edmore, Bruce (Mary) Maguire of Big Rapids, Greg (Victoria) Maguire of Trufant as well as several nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his grandson, Dillan Olsson; parents, Kenneth and Judith; and his brother, Kenneth Olsson and father-in law, Richard Maguire.A visitation and luncheon celebrating Mark's life will be held from 3:00-7:00 PM on Friday, October 18, 2024, at Brigham Funeral Chapel in Lakeview.
