Marsha Kay Huzzey's Obituary
On October 9, 2023, Marsha Kay Huzzey peacefully slipped into Eternity at age 69. Born to Harris and Maxine (Pohl) Diehl in the spring of 1954, Marsha brought a fresh joy to the couple. She had an innate kindness from the moment she was born, growing with her siblings and cultivating her gentle nature. By adulthood, Marsha had a deep love for the land and the animals that roamed it. She had a very strong faith and found God in all of his creatures.
At 24, Marsha married the love of her life, Richard Huzzey, in July of 1978. Together they went on to add two children; Nathan, and Jill, and made many wonderful memories together as a family. Marsha raised her children with love and gentleness, savoring every moment with them. She carried that gentle nature in all she did, especially with her dairy farm. She was very proud of the fact that she was a prize-winning dairy goat milk producer, and was always willing to help anyone when they had a question about animal husbandry. Marsha was involved in 4-H for many years, both as a leader as well as teaching dog obedience. For many years, Marsha was the Librarian at the Weidman Library, her outgoing nature and creativity will be remembered by all who met her.
Marsha was happiest when she was of service to others, enjoying the fellowship that it brought whether it was within the walls of her home welcoming friends and cooking up a feast for holidays and hunters, or at church surrounded by her faith family. She took great joy in the slow process of capturing amazing photos and printing them for all. One of her favorite activities was to ride bikes with Rick, taking their time to savor the gifts that God provided.
Like her Mother, Marsha embraced the importance of family traditions, often hosting holiday gatherings and birthday parties. She showed her love for family in many ways, including always mailing birthday cards. Her children and grandchildren were the shining joys of her life. She will be dearly missed.
Left to carry on her memory are husband, Rick; son Nathan (Mindy) Huzzey; daughter Jill (Mitch) Leiter; grandchildren Myia and Maci; brother Roger (Theresa) Diehl; sisters Jolene Sweet and Nikki (Dan) Walcutt; nieces and nephews, Brad (Jaime) Sweet, Caity (JD) Burnell, Brett (Sierra) Walcutt, Blake Walcutt, Hunter (Meghan) Diehl, and Hannah Diehl; 2 great-nephews and 1 great-niece.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother-in-Law, Michael Culhane.
