Martha Carolyn Burns' Obituary
Lakeview-Martha Carolyn Burns, age 98, of Six Lakes, Michigan passed away on August 27, 2023, at Green Acres of Greenville. She was the daughter of Lucas and Miriam (Dawes) Fleck. Martha graduated from Six Lakes High School in 1942. She became a registered nurse and married Milton Eugene Burns in 1945. They were together for sixty-nine years until his passing in 2014. They were the parents of three children. Together they enjoyed traveling and many friends. Martha was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Edmore and a lifetime member of the Six Lakes Burns-May VFW Post 5602 Ladies Auxiliary. She is survived by a son, Rodney (Karen) Burns; daughter-in-law, Carol Burns; daughter, Carolyn (Mark) Dombroske; 5 grandchildren, Michaelle (Tracey) Hollingsworth, Douglas Burns, Brian (Jennifer) Burns, Clifford (Kim) Burns and Kira (Paul) Broadwater; sister, Doris Snyder. Martha was a loving great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband; son, Allan Burns; great-granddaughter, Meaghin Burns; and a brother, Dalton Fleck. A graveside service for family will take place at Hillcrest Cemetery with the Reverend John Autio officiating.
