With deep sadness, we announce the passing of Martin Flynn, who left this world on March 17, 2026, at the age of 79. Born on November 5, 1946, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Martin lived a life marked by dedication and commitment, both as a devoted father and a proud veteran. After earning his associate’s degree, Martin enjoyed a distinguished career as a lineman with Union 876, where he was known for his unwavering work ethic and camaraderie. In addition to his professional achievements, he served honorably in the United States Navy, attaining the rank of E5, a testament to his commitment to service and discipline.
Martin is survived by his beloved daughter, Colleen Obermeier, and his cherished grandchild, Harlee. He is also survived by four step-daughters, a brother, Larry Hearn, and many loving relatives, including his niece Laurie, nephew Roger, great-niece Ashley, and great-great-niece Everly Flynn.
In accordance with Martin’s wishes, there will be no formal services. Martin Flynn will be remembered for his kind spirit, his dedication to family, and his unwavering commitment to his work and country. He will be profoundly missed by all who knew and loved him.
