Mary Barrett's Obituary
Lakeview - Mary M. (Pruitt) Barrett, age 75, of Six Lakes, MI, passed away on January 11, 2016 at her home with family by her side. She was born March 31, 1940 in Clintwood, Virginia, the daughter of James and Faye (Stanley) Pruitt. She was raised in Sandusky, Ohio, and attended Sandusky High School. Mary married Cecil Barrett in Sandusky on December 21, 1957. Mary was employed for Ford Motor Company in the Research and Engineering Department for 22 years until her retirement in 1995. Mary loved her family and most especially spending time with her grandchildren.
Mary will be missed by her husband of 58 years, Cecil Barrett of Six Lakes; children Tammy Gibbs, Kenneth Barrett, and Lisa Barrett all from Ypsilanti; grandchildren Nicole Pritchard, Tiffany White, Stephanie White, Phillip White, Melissa Gibbs, Kenny Barrett, and Megan Westfall; great-grandchildren Katelyn Gilbert, David Shattuck, Summer White, Paige Sanders, Elderd Wilson, and Jossie Wilson; siblings Jim (Charlotte) Pruitt, Candy Sullivan, and Gary (Robin) Pruitt; many nieces and nephews.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents James and Faye Pruitt; and two siblings John Pruitt, and Nancy Kneen Pruitt.
Services for Mary will be held on Thursday, January 14, 2016 at 4:15 PM at Brigham Funeral Chapel in Lakeview, MI. Visitation for Mary will start at 2:00 PM until the start of the service. Memorial Contributions can be made to the family.
