Mary Ellen (Swisher) Mahin's Obituary
age 67, of Riverdale, passed away Friday, April 24, 2015 at Mid-Michigan Hospital in Alma, MI. Mary was born April 27, 1947 in Riverdale, MI, the daughter of Bernard Russell and Esther Pauline (Nickelson) Swisher. She was raised in Riverdale and attended both the Losey Country School and Vestaburg High School.
Mary married the love of her life Richard Wayne Mahin on June 13, 1968 in Isabella County. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, baking, and loved caring for others, she was always there to help. Mary was a member of the Seville Community Church of God.
Mary will be deeply missed by Richard Mahin of Riverdale, her husband of forty-six years; one son Dennis Swisher of Riverdale; two daughters Pamela Mahin (Scott Scherzer) of Blanchard, and Brenda Mahin of Riverdale; nine grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren; three brothers John (Dee) Swisher of Elwell, Paul Swisher of Ovid, and David Swisher of Riverdale; one sister Alice Woodrow of Riverdale; two brothers-in-law Robert (Sally) Parrish of St. Louis, and William Mahin Jr. (Marilyn Howe) of Vancouver, WA; numerous nieces and nephews.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents Bernard and Esther Swisher; seven brothers and sisters Agnes, Jimmy, Virginia, Richard, Franklin, Robert Swisher, and Frances Bush; two mothers and fathers-in-law William (Mary) Mahin, and Jesse and Elaine Price; two brothers-in-law David Woodrow and Alfred Bush; two sisters-in-law Martha Swisher and Ruth Parrish; several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Mary's Life will be Thursday, April 30, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. at Seville Community Church of God, 8360 W. Monroe Rd., Elwell, MI 48832 with Pastor George Showers officiating. Family will be accepting friends for visitation from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. The church is providing a luncheon immediately following the service. Memorial Contributions in Mary's memory may be made to help the family.
