Mary Lucille Hamilton's Obituary
Big Rapids - Mary "Lucille" Hamilton, 100, of Grant Center, passed away Friday, May 19, 2017 at Evergreen Terrace in Big Rapids. She was born May 6, 1917, in Grant Center, the daughter of Oscar L. and Mary Adella (Langworthy) Pion, and lived there her entire life. For several years, Lucille worked at Fashion Industries in Big Rapids, and more recently had worked in food service at Ferris State College until retiring. Lucille was a member of the Old Country Church in Grant Center. She also loved to travel, and was an avid Detroit Tigers fan. On September 5, 1937, she married Roger "Shorty" Hamilton, who preceded her in death on June 15, 1992. Lucille is survived by her four daughters; Bonnie Luce of Mt. Pleasant, Judy (Dick) Hurst of Paris, Barbara Rogers of Big Rapids, and Marlene (David) Hurst of Big Rapids; and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her son, Jack, one sister, and two brothers. Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m., Monday, May 22, 2017, at the Mohnke Funeral Home in Big Rapids, with Pastor Eric Stadtfeld officiating. Burial will follow in the Grant Center Cemetery. Lucille's family will greet friends at the funeral home on Sunday, May 21, from 2-4 p.m., and prior to services on Monday. Memorial contributions in her name may be made for Evergreen Terrace, or the Old Country Church, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
