Mary Louise Magee's Obituary
Traverse City-Mary Louise Magee, 93, died peacefully at her home in Traverse City, on Friday, February 19, 2016.She was a long time resident of Big Rapids until she and her husband, Kenneth Magee, moved to Traverse Manor Assisted Retirement Center several years ago. Mary was born April 14, 1922 in Big Rapids, daughter of William and Bessie (Lundgren) Modrow. She graduated form Big Rapids High School in 1940, and earned a teaching certificate from Ferris State College. She was employed at the Mecosta County Clerk's office and later at Citizens State Bank, where she worked until her marriage to Kenneth Magee in 1958. Mary, the last of the "Modrow Girls" was preceded in death by her loving husband, Kenneth in 2012, her sisters, Mildred Modrow, Mabel Rogers, Agnes Streeter, Esther Brown, and an infant sister and brother, Thedore Modrow. She is survived by her step-daughter, Ann Magee of Grapeview, Washington and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at the Mohnke Funeral Home in Big Rapids with Pastor John Bookshaw officiating. Interment will be in the spring at Highland View Cemetery.
