Mary Lee Wing's Obituary
Edmore - Mary Lee Wing, age 78, of Vestaburg passed away on Saturday, June 29, 2019 at MidMichigan Medical Center Gratiot in Alma. She was born on February 17, 1941 the daughter of Wilbur and Norberta (LaVoy) Foster. Mary was raised in Riverdale and attended school in both Riverdale and Alma. She met the love of her life, Roderick R. Wing, when she was in 8th grade. They were married on January 16, 1959 at the Elm Hall Free Methodist Church. Over the years, Mary worked for Aunt Janes in Edmore, and for Lila and Bernard Hill dressing turkeys before following her passion for stonework, which she pursued for 50 years. She loved to pick rocks and build rock tables, make stone jewelry, and create stone birdhouses. She enjoyed traveling, especially out west, collecting rocks and cut stones, going to jamborees and raising beautiful flowers in memory of loved ones she had lost. Mary was a member of the Wonderland Rock Club, The Birthday Club and attended M-46 Tabernacle where she volunteered for the food pantry and hosting jamborees.
Mary will be missed by her children, William "Chuck" Wing of Crystal, Kenneth "Ken" (Bobbie) Wing of Vestaburg, Duane Wing of Riverdale and Cindy Feiss of Vestaburg; grandchildren, Charles (Brianne) Wing, Deja (Travis) Shafer, Teather (Robert) Buberger, Brittany (Tim) Stratton, Tiffany, Jenessa, Chad, Barry, Nikki, and Leo Wing, Joe (Ashley) Feiss, Heather (Anthony) Peirce; great grandchildren, Skyler, Aubree, Christian, Keegan, Hayden, McKenzie, Savanna, Clayton, Brody, Victoria, and Alexander; sister, Joan (Thomas) Peterson of Lansing; brother and sister in-laws, June (Clare) Guthrie; Janet (Larry) Bradley, Steve Wing, Fred (Joan) Wing, Kathy (Jack) Gibson and Walter Wing.
Mary is preceded in death by her husband of more than 56 years, Rod Wing; parents Wilbur and Norberta Foster; a brother Robert Foster; her father-in-law, Leo Wing, her mother-in-law, Ilah Wing and her brother-in-law, Richard Wing.
Funeral Services for Mary will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, July 5, 2019 at M-46 Tabernacle with Pastor Bob Menzel and Randy Peterson officiating. Graveside service will be held at Ferris Center Cemetery in Vestaburg following the service with Dan Skirvin officiating. The family will greet friends for visitation on Thursday July 4, 2019 at M-46 Tabernacle from 1:00-5:00 PM and 10:00-11:00 AM on Friday, July 5.
