Maryann Brown's Obituary
Maryann Brown, age 74 of Remus, passed away unexpectedly Monday, February 6, 2017 at her home. A memorial service will be held in the Lansing area at a later date, details will be in the Lansing State Journal once they are set.
Maryann was born January 22, 1943, in Detroit, MI, the daughter of Dean and Geraldine (Geiser) Brown. She was a Michigan State University graduate, and worked for Sparrow Hospital for many years before her career as a certified financial planner.
Independent, adventurous, and active were all words used to describe Maryann. She enjoyed racket ball, golf, being near the water, Native American history, hot air balloons, and time spent with family and friends. She had many beloved pets over the years, including her present dog, Dutches.
Left to cherish her memory are her sisters-in-law, Sadie Brown and Barbara Brown; nieces, Brooke (Scott) Tetzlaff and their son, Bryan, Carrie (Magnus) Brown Wilson and their children, Nicolas, and Isabel, and Julie (Michael) Boivin and their children, Allison, Lindsey, and Aidan; nephew, Brian (Becki) Brown and their two sons, Braydon and Barak, and many precious and dear friends, especially Carolyn Texera and Gladys Thomas.
Maryann was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Wallace and Graydon W. Brown.

A Memorial for Mary Ann Brown will be held 2-4 PM Sunday, March 26, 2017 at the MSU Kellogg Center (219 S. Harrison Road, E. Lansing, MI 48824, 517-432-4000) in the Red Cedar Room B.
Parking will be available at the Kellogg parking ramp which is next to the center. Parking passes for the Kellogg parking ramp will be given to attendees at the event.
Everyone is invited to share memories and stories about Mary Ann from 2:30 PM on.
Everyone is also invited to share photos of Mary Ann. There will be a cork board for display. You can bring photos with you, or email or regular mail them (or copies) to Carolyn Texera and she will post them. (Carolyn Texera, 413 W. Geneva Drive, DeWitt, MI 48820, [email protected] )
If you are unable to attend but would like to share memories please send them and we will read them to everyone.
Light refreshments will be served.
