Matthew Eric Hoaglin's Obituary
Obituary
Lakeview - Matthew Eric Hoaglin, age 33, of Stanton formerly of Lakeview, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, April 16, 2018 in Kent City. Matthew was born on January 3, 1985 in Lakeview, the son of Anthony Hart and Rebecca Lockwood.
Matthew was raised in Lakeview and attended Lakeview Community Schools. He was self-employed doing drywall and construction work until he started working for Bouma Construction in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
Matthew met his fiancé Mackenzie Boatman in 2010 in Alpena, Michigan. He enjoyed working on his motorcycle, playing with Mya, sports, and loving Mackenzie. Matthew was a huge University of Michigan fan, especially U. of M. football. He loved the U of M fight song. One of his recent trips was one of his biggest dreams - visiting the Pro-Football Hall of Fame, and his family is so glad that he went! Matthew worshipped his family, loved his friends, and he was so funny, he was always joking. Matthew and Mackenzie attended the Greenville Community Church.
Matthew will be deeply missed by his father Anthony Hart (Karri Curry) of Lakeview; mother Rebecca (Shad) Lockwood of Lakeview; Fiancé Mackenzie Boatman of Stanton; two daughters Evelyn, and Mya Hoaglin; ten siblings David (Nicole) Chapman, Kyle (Carnelle) Chapman, Kevin Chapman, Heather Chapman (Joseph Gonser), Jackson Lockwood, Nichole Hart, Sara Hart, Madison Hart, Nichole Hanshue, and Logan (Catherine) Anderson; mother-in-law Rosie Chavez; two sister-in-law's Jamie (Alvie) Chavez, and Alicia (Zack) Oliver; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and countless friends.
Matthew was received in heaven by his grandparents Florence Garza, and Nancy and "Big Ken" Hoaglin; one uncle James Hart; and his best friend and confident in trouble Jesse Davis.
A Celebration of Matthew's life will take place on Friday, April 20, 2018 at 7:00 P.M. at Brigham Funeral Chapel in Lakeview with Pastor Brian Savage officiating. The family will accept friends for visitation on Friday from 5:00 - 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Those wishing to contribute in Matthew's memory are asked to consider Mackenzie and Mya.
