Max J. Cook's Obituary
Edmore-Max J. Cook, age 95, of Edmore passed away in Alma, MI, on Tuesday, February 6, 2024. He was born In Edmore on March 5, 1928, to parents George F. and Vadah F. (Rowley) Cook.Max was a faithful servant at Faith United Methodist Church in Edmore and also a member of the Six Lakes Masonic Lodge. He graduated in 1945 from Blanchard High School and continued his education at Central Michigan University for 2 years, where he pursued his passion for music. Max was a farmer until 1966, after which he was employed by Morbark Industries for 25 years before retiring in 1991. His love for music and Woodworking was evident at a young age. He enjoyed playing the piano, cards, hunting, and traveling, but most of all spending time with his family. Max will be missed by everyone that knew him.Cherishing his memory is his wife of 22 years, Marie (Hilzey); his 2 children, Danny (Diane) Cook of Blanchard and Brad Cook of Blanchard; grandchildren, Jennifer (Johnothan) Blanshan, D. Stephen (Beth) Cook, Angela (Scott) Costella, A. J. (Jana) Cook; 6 great- grandchildren.Preceding him in death are his parents, George and Vadah, his first wife Gayla Cook; and his son, M. Scott Cook.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 10, 2024, at Faith United Methodist Church in Edmore, with Pastor Connie Bongard and Pastor Lem Granada officiating. The family will greet friends from 10:00 AM until the time of service. He will be laid to rest at Pine River Cemetery in Blanchard.
