Maxine H. Hansen's Obituary
Lakeview-Maxine H. Hansen, age 101, of Trufant passed away on Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at Lakeview Terrace Assisted Living. She was born on April 25, 1919 in Ann Arbor, the daughter of Jasper and Adah (Hillman) Hammel. Maxine was raised in the Six Lakes area where she attended Lakeview Schools, graduating with the class of 1936. She married Robert "Bob" Hansen on January 11, 1950 in Lakeview. She was employed as a secretary at Christensen Nursing Home and also at Greenville Schools. She was a member of the St. Thomas Lutheran Church in Trufant where she served as choir director. She enjoyed reading, playing the piano and spending time at their cabin in Irons, MI.
Maxine is survived by her children, Karen Cameron of Grand Rapids, Robert R. (Kathleen) Hansen, Jr. of Old Say Brook, CT, Max P. (Marie) Hansen of Gowen; grandchildren Casey, Robert III (Ally), Tessa, Andrew (Nkamdu), Katie; 4 great-grandchildren; special family friend, Ione Edison of Clifford Lake; nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband of over 70 years, Robert Raymond Hansen in November of 2020; her parents, Jasper and Adah; and her brothers, Newt and Foster Hammel.
A private family graveside service will take place with interment at Trufant Cemetery.
