Melvin Stanley Morrow's Obituary
Melvin Stanley Morrow, age 82, of Edmore, Mi, peacefully passed away on January 10, 2022, at Blodgett Hospital in East Grand Rapids. Melvin was born on June 9,1939, in Richland township - at home, the son of Russell Francis Morrow and Veda Lorene (Hartman) Morrow. Melvin was raised in Edmore and attended Edmore High School Class of 1958. On October 28, 1961, Melvin married Sandra V. Maes in Edmore at Our Saviors Lutheran Church. He was employed at G.E. and Hitachi, for 41 ½ years, until his retirement on July 1, 2001. Melvin proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1963 to 1965. He was an active member of the Edmore First Church of God. Melvin enjoyed fishing, bowling, watching movies on TV, and having coffee with friends at Burger King.
Melvin is survived in death by his spouse, Sandra (Maes) Morrow of Edmore; two sons, Craig (Cindy) Morrow of Elizabethtown, KY., David (Shannon Holmes) Morrow of Vestaburg; one daughter, Susan (Fred "Chaz" Vaillancourt) Morrow of Six Lakes; grandchildren, Travis Morrow, Andrew Hissong and Kira Stoner, Desirae Morrow and Deven Morrow, Brian (Kasey) Morrow, and Sara Morrow; seven great grandchildren with the eighth on the way in March; several nieces and nephews.
Melvin was preceded in death by his parents, Russell F. and Veda L. Morrow; grandparents, William and Pearl Morrow, and Howard and Delilah Hartman; niece, Tonya Wall; nephews, Marshall, Brian and Sandy Wall; sister, Joyce I. Moore; special aunt and uncle, Eldon and Marion Morrow.
A memorial service will be for Melvin on January 22, 2022, at Edmore First Church of God, time of service will be at 12p.m., family will accept friends at a visitation at 11 a.m. Memorial contributions can be made to the family.
