Merton "Mert" Chris Hansen Jr.'s Obituary
Edmore - Merton "Mert" Chris Hansen Jr., age 68, of Edmore passed away on Wednesday, November 9, 2022, at Spectrum Health Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids. He was born on September 9, 1954, in Edmore to Merton and Nova (Stine) Hansen. Mert was raised in the Edmore area where he attended Montabella Schools. After graduating with the Class of 1974, he served in the United States Air Force. Upon returning from the service, Mert was employed as a farmer and truck driver by R. A. Harkness and Son. He was also employed by Electrolux in Greenville for several years until their closing. He then went back to driving truck for Vachel Perkins Trucking, Wayne Jensen and Andersen Brothers. Mert was a member of the Amvets. Mert will be missed and is survived by his children, Christian Hansen of Six Lakes, Cody Keeler of Crystal; grandchildren, Lincoln and Jaxen; sister, Donna Hansen of Edmore; a niece and great-nephew; special friends, Ann Smith, Tracey Tatum; and his beloved dog, Chevy. He was preceded in death by his parents, Nova and Merton; and brother, David Hansen. A memorial service for Mert will be at 11:00 AM on Monday, November 21, 2022, at Brigham Funeral Chapel in Edmore with Pastor Gale Nesbitt officiating.
