Michael Alden Willett's Obituary
Michael Alden Willett, age 75, of Lakeview, passed away at his home on November 18, 2016. Michael was born March 30, 1941 in Lakeview, the son of Byron and Hazel F. (Laird) Willett. He was raised in Lakeview and graduated from Lakeview High School Class of 1959. Michael attended Ferris State College for Real Estate. Michael was self-employed as a Carpenter his whole life. He worked in cabinetry over eight years and in real estate over eight years. He built his home from scratch after a fire completely destroyed it. With the expert help from his sons, a beautiful home was constructed. He also was employed by Gibson's in Greenville as a Welder, then at both Weller Truck, and Valley Truck. Michael married his beloved wife of forty-three years, Connie R. Christiansen, on August 4, 1973 at Lakeview Baptist Church. They met at the cherry orchards when Connie was thirteen and would help there. But when the orchards equipment was broken down, and she helped again at twenty, it was the start of a beautiful life together. Michael was a member of the First Baptist Church in Morley and his hobbies included hunting (especially bow hunting), and spending time with family and friends.
Michael will be deeply missed by his wife Connie Willett of Lakeview; six children, Charissa (Benjamin) Finn of Marshall Islands, Ryan Willett (Linsey Andersen) of Howard City, Steven (Nicole) Willett of Lakeview, Aaron (Stephanie) Willett of Kalamazoo, and Darin Willett of Canadian Lakes; nine grandchildren Marissa, Shaelee, and Steven Finn, Aubrey Willett, Aiden Willett, Braxton and Brooklyn Willett, and Mackenzie and Kara Willett; two sisters Marjorie Faber of Washington, and Gloria Gaunt of Wyoming; several nieces, nephews, friends, and church family.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents Byron and Hazel Willett; and three brothers Kenneth, Byron Jr., and Richard Willett.
Funeral services for Michael will be Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at 11:00 at the First Baptist Church in Morley with Pastor Steve Finn officiating. The family will be receiving guests on Monday, November 21, 2016 from 6:00 - 8:00 p. m. at the church. A luncheon will be at the Hinton Township Hall on 3 Mile Rd in Lakeview following the funeral service.
