Michael Thomas Gigowski's Obituary
Michael Thomas Gigowski, caring father, brother, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully Thursday, December 29, 2022 surrounded by family and friends, at the age of 53. Burial will take place in St. Michael Cemetery, following a visitation at St. Michael Catholic Church in Remus from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm on Wednesday, January 4, 2023.
Mike was born December 6, 1969 to James Gigowski and Alice Horner. He was a hard worker all his life and was always willing to help family and friends in need. Mike started working at Main Farms in Lakeview in 1994, and quickly became part of their family. During his down time, Mike enjoyed fishing, playing cards, bowling, and simply relaxing while watching a good movie or playing a game. He was always up for playing a prank on an unsuspecting family member or friend, and consistently had something “smart” to say. His great sense of humor and stubborn ways will be deeply missed by so many. Mike is now resting peacefully.
Left to cherish his memory are his mother, Alice Gigowski; children, James, Michael Jr., Ashlee, and Cody Gigowski; brothers, Jim (Nancy) Gigowski, Harry (Kristine) Gigowski, and Pat Gigowski; sisters, Dawn (Craig) Hall and Lisa Coulilard (Dean); best friend of 28 years, Tony Purcell and six grandchildren, Michael, Destiny, Annalise, Ezekiel, Luke, and Azrael.
Mike was preceded in death by his father, James Gigowski; nephew, David; daughter-in-law, Jessica McNeill-Gigowski and numerous aunts and uncles.
Those desiring may direct memorial contributions to Mike’s family to be used according to their wishes.
