Michael was born March 24, 1973, in Bay City, MI, the son of John Rivard and Teresa Caldwell. He worked for Iosco, Arenac, and Mecosta EMS for a total of 13 years before making the decision to become a stay at home dad. Mike was extremely handy and was able to fix anything. He had his own business making marketing signs for other local businesses and enjoyed being outdoors, hunting and fishing.
Michael was described as a genuinely good person; he would give you the shirt off his back if you liked it. He was a loving husband and father, and cared very much about other people. Mike’s greatest joy in life was his son, Matthew, whom was his world.
Michael’s good sense of humor and caring nature will be greatly missed by his loving wife, Heidi; son, Matthew; parents, John and Teresa; sister, Bethany; aunt, Ruth Caldwell, and nephew, Shae.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Gereldine and Howard Caldwell, Edna and Hub Rivard, as well as his beloved dog, Max.
