Michael Rowland's Obituary
Stanwood - Michael Rowland, 73, of Stanwood, passed away Saturday, June 9, 2018, at his residence.
He was born March 1, 1945, in Paintsville, KY, the son of Eckell and Virginia (Woods) Rowland. As a young man, Mike moved to Michigan, and worked at the Chrysler Engine Plant in Trenton for 30 years. Upon retiring nearly 10 years ago, he moved to Stanwood, where he had lived since. Mike enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing, and loved flowers and strawberries.
Surviving are two daughters, Carolyn Rowland of Massillon, OH, Teresa (J) Wiebe of Stanwood; 2 granddaughters, Rebecca and Sabrina Freeland; one brother Sammy Joe of Texas, 2 sisters, Zezaleee Keaton and Mary Mae (Everett) McCoy, both of Kentucky; 2 great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and extended family. Mike was preceded in death by three brothers, Homer, Hurst, and Wendell.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, June 14, 2018, at the Red Bush Church in Red Bush, KY, with Rev. Jackie Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Saylers Cemetery in Johnson County, KY Mike's family will greet friends at the church beginning at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday.
