Obituary
Vestaburg - Michael D. Townsend, age 69, of Kalamazoo, passed away on Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at Spectrum Health Blodgett Hospital. Michael was born September 25, 1949 in Alma, MI, the son of Arthur Russell and Elizabeth (Mills) Townsend. He was raised in Ithaca and graduated from Ithaca High School.
Michael was self-employed his entire life as a drywaller. He enjoyed camping, traveling, and playing cribbage. In fact, he was a member of the Cribbage Club. Most importantly, Michael was family orientated and loved spending time with his family especially his grandchildren. In his early years, Michael coached boys little league.
Michael is survived in death by his two daughters Mallissa Burnham of Hesperia, and Julie (Michael) Wentworth of Vestaburg; grandchildren Taylor and Tucker Burnham, Sidney Mullins, Kelsee, Kylee, and Kaylee Wentworth; siblings Murlene Kay Clements of Crystal, Barbara Elizabeth Davis of Florida, and Arthur Linn Townsend of New Mexico; several nieces, nephews, and friends.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents Arthur and Elizabeth Townsend, one brother Robert Townsend, and one granddaughter Korey Wentworth.
