Michael Eric Walkington's Obituary
Edmore- Michael "Mike" Eric Walkington, age 47, of Blanchard, passed away on Tuesday, December 20, 2022, at McLaren Central Michigan Hospital in Mt. Pleasant. He was born on February 22, 1975, in Lakeview to Richard and Deborah (Smith) Walkington. Mike was raised in Blanchard and graduated from Montabella High School in 1993. A lifelong dream and passion had been to work on the family farm, where he was employed for his entire life. Mike loved to watch WWE wrestling and his favorite teams, the Detroit Lions and University of Michigan play football. He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and cutting wood. Bowling was another pastime Mike had, but his favorite of all was spending time with family and picking on the kids and grandkids. Mike will be missed by his loving companion of many years, Lana Lyle of Blanchard; children, Ashley Hanafin of Big Rapids, Joshua (Heather) Hanafin of Horsehead Lake, Riley Walkington of Stanton, Elizabeth Lyle, Evan Lyle, Cecilia Lyle, Ian Walkington Lyle all of Blanchard; four grandchildren, Titan, Lottie, Amira and Ivy; parents, Rick and Deb; two brothers, Alan Walkington of Blanchard and Scott (Carrie) Walkington of Muncie, IN; and two nieces, Bailey and Payton. A celebration of Mike's life will take place at noon on Monday, January 16, 2023, in Blanchard at the American Legion.
