Michael Leigh Williams' Obituary
Edmore - Michael Leigh Williams, age 68, of Edmore, passed away at his home on Friday, April 19, 2019 with family by his side. Michael was born February 14, 1951 in Lansing, and was raised the son of Wayne and Georgia Mae (Vincent) Farrell. Michael was raised in Blanchard and graduated from Montabella High School class of 1969.
His earliest employment started on his family's farm. After graduation, Michael served his country honorably in the United States Marine Corp in which he was a Firefighter serving in Africa most of the time. Michael was employed by Federal Mogul over 30 years until his retirement in 2010. Michael married Bonnie Fryover when they eloped to Hawaii on April 5, 1982.
His hobbies centered on his love of being outdoors, including mowing, burning stuff, making beautiful trails in the woods, landscaping, and woodworking. He was a President of the Montabella PTO, and the 1st Field Director for the Montabella Youth Rocket Football program. Michael was a member of the Edmore Masonic Lodge Chapter 360, and the Eastern Stars Chapter 111.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents Wayne and Georgia Farrell. He will be missed by his wife of 37 years Bonnie Williams of Edmore; five children Michael (Erin) Williams Jr. of Lake Isabella, Benjamin Williams of Edmore, Reeva (Rob) Ripley of Mt. Pleasant, Zakery Ripley of Mt. Pleasant, and Zebulum (Veronica) Ripley of Howard City; six grandchildren Nielsen, baby on the way Arlo, Zella, Zakaree, Ian, and River; siblings Christine "Cindy" Williams of Mt. Pleasant, Lynn Williams of California, Gary (Joan) Farrell of Barryton, Shelly Farrell of Tennessee, Leah Farrell of Jackson, and Tommy (Marcie) Farrell of Florida; several nieces, nephews, and friends.
A celebration of Michael's life will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. at the Faith United Methodist Church in Edmore with Pastor Dan Barkholz officiating. All are invited to a potluck luncheon immediately following the service. Those wishing to contribute in Michael's memory are asked to consider the Edmore Masonic Lodge Chapter 360.
