Michelle Kae Smith's Obituary
Michelle Kae Smith, age 49 of Mecosta, passed away suddenly February 23, 2015. A funeral ceremony in Michelle’s honor will be held Friday, February 27th at 1:00 PM, at Hansen Janowicz Funeral Home in Remus. Pastor Greg Buchner will officiate with a luncheon to follow at New Hope United Methodist Church-Mecosta. Family will be at the funeral home Friday morning to greet friends from 11:00 AM to the time of the service.
Michelle was born July 21, 1965, the daughter of Sharon Randall and Dewayne Vanalstine. She ran her own daycare center out of her home for nearly 18 years and was known by many as “Aunt Shell”. After closing her daycare, Michelle went to work for Royal View Assisted Living in Mecosta where she was currently employed.
Loving, caring, stubborn, and quiet (until she got upset) were all words used to describe Michelle. She enjoyed cooking, baking and more than anything, her grandchildren. Family was very important to her, which was easy to see. Her house became the regular hangout spot for family get-togethers, which she loved. Michelle was a great and very proud mother, and a wonderful grandma to her three grandchildren.
Left to cherish her memory are her mother, Sharon Lintemuth; children, Cody (Wendy) Smith and Brittany (Eric) Kramer; sisters, Karrie Hixson, Pamela Beemer and Jeannie (Leon) Johnson; grandchildren, Shelby, Connor, Lilly, Brennan and Kameron, and many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
Michelle was preceded in death by her father, Dewayne and step-father, Jerry.
Those desiring may direct memorial contributions to the family to help with funeral expenses. Friends may share a memory with the family at the funeral home or online at www.hansenjanowicz.com.
