Minnie A. Nehmer's Obituary
Big Rapids Minnie A. Nehmer, 93, of Big Rapids passed away Thursday May 28, 2009, at Metron of Big Rapids. She was born July 15, 1915, in Big Rapids, the daughter of Albert and Mary (Zimmerman) Nehmer, and lived here her entire life. For many years, Minnie worked in Food Service at Ferris State College until her retirement. She was a lifetime member of St. Peters Lutheran Church, where she was confirmed on April 5, 1936. Minnie is survived by 3 sisters, Marie Laprise and Rose Dennis, both of Big Rapids, and Betty Belcher of Grand Rapids; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Albert and Mary Nehmer, sisters Marietta Nehmer and Florentina Novak, and her brother Bill Nehmer. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Sunday, May 31, at the Mohnke Funeral Home Funeral Home in Big Rapids, with Rev. John Bookshaw officiating. Burial will be in the Highland View Cemetery. Memorial contributions for St. Peters may be left at the funeral home, where Minnies family will greet friends beginning at 12:00 p.m. on Sunday until time of services.
