Minnie Stillwell's Obituary
Minnie Stillwell, 91, of Big Rapids, passed away Saturday, January 5, 2013, at Altercare of Big Rapids with her family by her side. She was born February 7, 1921, in Walhalla, ND, the daughter of Roy and Emma Donart. On June 18, 1938, Minnie married Clyde Stillwell in Big Rapids, where they raised their family. A hard worker, Minnie held a variety of jobs in Big Rapids throughout the years. She kept busy at home also, offering practical help to all family members that had a need. She was always full of energy, and very loving and kind to everyone. Her faithful sewing machine came in handy for many a mending job, and she was lovingly known as the "Contact Queen" for her creative uses of contact paper. Minnie was preceded in death by her husband Clyde in 1991, and a son Ron. She is survived by 2 sons, Lawrence of White Cloud and Phil (Karen) of Big Rapids; one daughter Delores "Doe" Macurio of Big Rapids; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; and her sister Martha Shineldecker of Eau Claire. Funeral services for Minnie will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 10, 2013 at the Third Avenue United Methodist Church in Big Rapids, with Pastor Ed Milam and Pastor Mike Reigler officiating. Interment will take place in the spring at Pine Plains Cemetery. Minnie's family will greet friends after 10:00 a.m. on Thursday at the church. Memorial contributions in her name may be made for the church or for the Commission on Aging.
