Morris A. "Pete" Cokonougher's Obituary
Six LakesMorris A. Pete Cokonougher, 78, of Six Lakes, passed away Sunday April 13, 2008 at Metron of Big Rapids. He was born May 25, 1929, in Lansing, the son of Elwood and Myra (Birch). During the Korean, he served with the U.S. Army. Following his discharge, he returned to the Lansing area, and worked for Holt Public Schools for 25 years. In 1994, he retired and moved to Six Lakes, where he lived since. On December 31, 1952, he married Dorothy Vos, who preceded him in death on December 30, 2005. Surviving are 2 sons, Steve (Kate) of Nicholasville, KY, John (Shelly) of Eaton Rapids; 3 daughters, Brenda (Rick) Link of Burlington, Colleen (Larry) Madsen of Lakeview, and Laura (Brian Martin) Ott of Stanwood; 13 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 4:00 p.m., today (Tuesday), April 15,2008 at the Mohnke Funeral Home in Big Rapids, with Pastor Judy Corey officiating. Burial will be in the Stanwood Cemetery. Friends may call after 3:00 p.m. today until the time of services.
