Nancy Ulrich's Obituary
Canadian Lakes - Nancy Lee Ulrich, 79, of Stanwood, MI, passed away January 10, 2017, in Mount Pleasant, MI, after a fierce battle with an aggressive lung cancer. Nancy was born the 18th of March, 1937, in Morley, MI to Frank and Nellie Ulrich. Nancy, like her Aunt Mary, had a love of the outdoors, spending some of her favorite days hunting and fishing! She loved to share hunting and fishing stories with others and never got tired of hearing their stories. She was not only a people person, but an animal lover as well. She made many wonderful, caring friendships and treated all God's creatures with a loving heart. She had a transparent personality that allowed people an instant understanding of who she was, and she knew exactly who she was, never pretending to be anyone other than herself. She had several beloved pets throughout her lifetime, and always considered them to be her kids. She is survived by her only sibling, her younger brother Larry Ulrich; and a sister-in-law Jayne. Nancy and Larry, whom she always affectionately referred to as "the Brat", not only were fishing and hunting buddies, but the very best of friends. She is also survived by her Uncle Weldon Crame, her Aunt Louise McDonald, Nephew Jeff (Rebecca) Ulrich, Niece Kaylin Knowles, Great-nephew Justin Ulrich, and Great-niece Olivia Ulrich, several cousins, and very special friends and neighbors she always considered to be family as well. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved aunts and uncles; Mary Crame, Eldon and Joe Haskill, Betty Titus, and Erma Haskill. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, January 16, 2017 at the Mohnke Funeral Home in Big Rapids, with Pastor Kim DeLong officiating. Nancy's family will greet friends beginning at 1:00 p.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, or for those that wish, memorial contributions may be made to Animal Rescue Coalition (ARC) of Mecosta County, 18400 220th Ave., Big Rapids, MI 49307, or Woodland Hospice, 2597 S. Meridian Rd., Mt. Pleasant, MI 48858.
