Neil Gordon Weld's Obituary
Edmore-Neil Gordon Weld, age 66, of Six Lakes, passed away Tuesday, August 27, 2019 at Spectrum Health Butterworth Hospital. Neil was born on December 12, 1952 in Sheridan, the son of Neil and Nellie (Wilder) Weld. He attended Montabella High School and graduated with the class of 1971. Neil worked at Hitachi Magnetics for 32 years as a set up tech. Neil loved football, watching movies, riding his Harley and spending time with his family, especially summers around the campfire in Buckley, Michigan. He married the love of his life of 45 years, Cheryl Wilson, on June 29,1974 and they had four children Brett, Chris, Troy, and Jodi.
Neil is survived by his loving wife, Cheryl Weld; daughter, Jodi (Don) Hesling of Grand Rapids; sons, Brett (Larrine) Weld of Grand Rapids, Chris (Ashley) Weld of Lexington, SC and Troy (Mollie) Niewiadomski of Pierson; six grandchildren, Morgan, Mason, Conner, Lilly, Roland and Reid; sister, Pat (Glenn) Meade; mother-in-law Irma Wilson; brother-in-law Bob (Maureen) Wilson; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Neil was preceded in death by his parents, Neil and Nellie; sister, Nelena; and father-in-law Vern Wilson.
Funeral Services for Neil will be at 3:00 PM on Saturday, August 31, 2019 at Brigham Funeral Chapel in Edmore with Pastor Michelle Fleck officiating. The family will greet friends at 1:00 PM until the start of the service. Interment will take place at Hillcrest Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Neil's name can be made to the National Kidney Foundation. As per Neil's wishes visitors can attend in casual attire.
