The funeral service will take place Saturday, January 8that 12pm, with a two hour visitation prior to the service.
Nick was born June 17, 1980, in Perry, Michigan to Paul and Ruth (Radaker) Richards. Growing up in Perry, he was a 1999 graduate of Perry High School. After graduation, Nick spent time in the Lansing, Remus, and Barryton areas, and later settled in Lapeer with his partner in life, Andrea Kiss, and their two children, son, Bentley and daughter, Finleigh.
He was an automotive production worker at Gestamp in Lapeer, where he looked forward to seeing so many work buddies everyday. Nick was hardworking, honest, and loved his family with all he had. He also had an unmatched sense of humor! Everyone close to him would say that he was a great friend… the best really! You could talk to him about anything. Most importantly, he was a great dad and partner. Their family motto was and still is, “We’ll figure it out. We always do!”.
He enjoyed vacationing in Florida and camping with Andrea and their kids, as well as being “up north” in Barryton with his parents and family, spending time around the campfires, bowling, and throwing horse shoes. His true hobbies or passions were collecting basketball cards, and money or coins. Nick remembered collecting cards at an early age and literally looked at them everyday, and he never passed up a bill or coin without looking at it first.
Without a doubt, Nick tried to live his life to the absolute fullest.
Nick is survived by his partner in life, Andrea; their two children; his parents; two sisters, Heather Newport, Kristi Richards; his brother, Joseph (Mitzie) Richards; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, his in-laws, and a thousand friends.
He is preceded in death by his brother, Todd; and his grandparents.
Nick would ask that you take a moment to hug your child, grandchild, parent, friend, or walk in the woods for a moment, an hour, or a day. Time waits for no one.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the family to go towards Nick’s children’s future needs.
Rest in peace, Nickolas!
