Nora Leone Tribe's Obituary
Big Rapids - Nora Leone Tribe, 82, of Green Township, passed away Thursday, April 1, 2021 at Spectrum Health Butterworth in Grand Rapids.
She was born January 7, 1939, in Big Rapids, the daughter of Lloyd and Leola (Flasher) Moss, and lived in Big Rapids her entire life. On July 14, 1956, she married George Lyman Tribe, who preceded her in death on December 13, 2016.
For several years, Nora worked for Wolverine World Wide, and served at the Chuck Wagon Restaurant in Reed City. More recently, she had worked for Eliminator Carper Cleaning, and also ran her own home cleaning service.
Nora was a member of the Paris United Methodist Church. She loved to attend auctions, flea markets and yard sales, and also enjoyed tending her garden, crocheting, and embroidering. In her younger years, travelling, family camping trips, and fishing were her favorite ways to relax. Most importantly, Nora loved family time, especially with her grandchildren.
Nora is survived by their children, Tom (Teresa) Tribe, Virginia Boomer, Nora ( Bill) Hatchew, all of Big Rapids, Dale (Mary) Tribe of Paris, and Schar (Jason) VandenBerg of Allendale; 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; (with one more on the way); her brother Gary (Delores) Moss of Paris; her two sisters, Beverly Morneau of Paris, and Kay (Tom) Story of Evart; two sisters-in-law Ruth Smith and Donna Tribe; and many nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by 2 grandchildren, Chris Boomer and Erica Hatchew, son-in-law Danny Boomer, and two brothers Lewis and Norman Moss.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m., Monday, April 5, 2021, at the Mohnke Funeral Home in Big Rapids, with Pastor Bill Davis officiating. Burial will follow in the West Cemetery in Green Township. Nora's family will greet friends beginning at 11:00 a.m. Monday until time of services. Memorial contributions in her name may be made for the Paris United Methodist Church, or the Susan P.
