Nyle B Jones' Obituary
After 98 years of a blessed, mostly pain-free life, Nyle B Jones triumphantly entered the waiting arms of his Lord and Savior on October 5, 2016. Born May 28, 1918 in Sheridan Township, Nyle spent the last 11 years of his life at Green Acres Assisted Living in Greenville, MI.
Nyle served his county for four years in the United States Army during World War II. He married Iris Lebeck in 1944 and they lived and raised five children on a small farm north of Stanton. Nyle devoted his life to sharing his faith and blessing others with his musical talents - singing, playing the guitar and playing the piano. Green Acres was blessed with his hymn-playing talent right up to the day before he passed.
After his farming days, Nyle worked for the US Post Office, first as a rural mail carrier and later as a clerk in Stanton. Nyle was a faithful member for many years of the First Baptist Church in Stanton, later of Church of the Gentle Shepherd in Six Lakes and most recently Greenville Community Church in Greenville. Faith and prayer were a major part of Nyle's life and was shown in the way he lived.
Nyle was preceded in death by his parents, Nora and Orin Jones: his wife, Iris Jones; his brothers, Merton Jones and Eldon Jones; his sisters, Marjorie Olin and Velma Williams; and his grandson, Shawn Allen.
Nyle is survived by his sister, Alnora Emmons of Stanton; his daughter, Sandra Cato of Poulsbo, WA; his daughter, Sharon Comden of Greenville; his son, Richard Jones of Greenville; his son, Robert Jones of Edmore; his son, Daniel Jones of Baldwin; 11 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren; 10 great great grandchildren and many friends.
The family will receive friends and relatives from 3 to 6 pm, Saturday at Brigham Funeral Home in Edmore. The service celebrating Nyle's faith and life will be at 2 pm, Sunday at Greenville Community Church. Interment will take place at Entrican Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Forgotten Man Ministries Montcalm County in honor of Nyle's passion for prison ministry or the Church of the Gentle Shepherd in Six Lakes where Nyle served as pianist for many years.
