Pansy L. Hartline's Obituary
Pansy L. Hartline, 87, of Norwich Township, passed away Monday, May 23, at Spectrum Health Skilled Nursing Facility in Reed City. She was born January 10, 1924, in Buchanan, the daughter of Charles and Evelean (Hutson) Maxson. In 1945, she married James Hartline, and they moved to Norwich Township in 1953, where she had lived since. Pansy enjoyed gardening and canning, and was known for her fruit and cream pies. She was a life member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, where she loved to play bingo, and sold many pies every week for fundraising. She taught her children and grandchildren many lessons in life that will be carried on through the generations. She will be dearly missed by all her family. Her husband Jim preceded Pansy in death in 1990. Surviving are 2 daughters, Hazel (Harold) Ickes of Schoolcraft, Ada (Sam) Jenkins of Fostoria; 1 son, James, Jr. of Big Rapids; 16 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; 1 sister, Joyce Matthews of Niles; and several nieces and nephews. Pansy was also preceded in death by 2 sons, Charles and Walter, 1 daughter Mary; and 7 brothers and sisters. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m., Thursday, May 26, at the Mohnke Funeral Home in Big Rapids with Pastor Robert Kahley officiating. Burial will follow in the Hungerford Cemetery. Pansys family will greet friends at the funeral home beginning at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or Camp Trotter, (a VFW sponsored youth camp), with envelopes available at the funeral home.
