Paul Lavern ByBee's Obituary
Rodney - Paul Lavern Bybee, 81, of Rodney, passed away Sunday, November 19, 2017, at home surrounded by his loved ones. He was born February 2, 1936 in Niles, the son of Ernest and Hazel (Barr) Bybee. Following his graduation from Baldwin High School, Paul served in the U.S. Navy. Upon his discharge, he returned to the area where he has lived since. For many years, Paul worked as a meat cutter for Mondrella's Market, then later for Denny's Value-land and Wal-Mart. He also worked for nearly 20 years as a supervisor for Wolverine World Wide. The son of a minister, Paul carried on the family tradition. As a man of great faith, he ministered to others, and led by his examples. He was a member of Christ Harvest Ministries and the prayer team there, and also volunteered many hours for the Mel Trotter Ministries. Paul was well-known for his sense of humor and prank pulling. He also enjoyed playing his guitar, but most of all he loved his family, and his cat Bearsy. Paul's family would like to express their appreciation to the wonderful service provided by Hospice of Michigan. Paul is survived by his wife of 40 years, Karen Sue Renne; 2 daughters, Lori J. (David) Maxon, and Denise M. (Mikael) VanAlstine; 2 sons, Paul L. (Stacey) Bybee, Jr., and Ernest E. (Kris) Bybee; 16 grandchildren; 12 great-grand-children; a sister Janet of Niles; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his daughter Becky Ann and his son Bradley Wayne. A celebration of Paul's life will begin at 1:00 p.m., Sunday, November 26, 2017, at Christ Harvest Ministries, 701 Woodward Avenue in Big Rapids. The memorial service will begin at 1:30 p.m., with Pastor Lynn Winans officiating. Arrangements are entrusted to the Mohnke Funeral Home in Big Rapids.
