Paul Edward Hopkins' Obituary
Paul Edward Hopkins, age 83 of Rodney, passed away early on Monday, January 2, 2017 at Spectrum Health Big Rapids. A funeral service in his honor will be held Thursday, January 5, 2017 at Chippewa Hills Baptist Church in Remus at 11:00 AM with visitation from 9:00 AM to the time of service. Pastor Chuck Richardson will officiate with a luncheon to follow.
Paul was born September 19, 1933, the son of Donald and Alice (Truman) Hopkins. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1950 to 1954, before he went to work for Melling Drop Forge for 40 years. Paul enjoyed watching football and baseball, and singing in the church choir.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 48 years, Jeannine; children, Velvet, Edward, Dawn, and Eric; seven sisters, and three grandchildren. Paul was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, and one sister.
