Paul L. Kirk's Obituary
Bitely Paul Leonard Kirk, Age 90, of Bitely , passed away Sunday, September 27, 2009, at his home. He was born December 30, 1918 in Walkerville, the son of Edson and Elna (Hornsby) Kirk. Paul graduated from Baldwin High school. and lived on the family farm for over 85 years working as a beef/dairy farmer and logger. He served as a Newaygo County Commissioneer, loved spending time with his family and working on the farm. On October 11, 1952 he married Katheryn Corneila Williams, who preceeded him in death on June 2, 1990. Surviving are his six children: Paula Olson of Big Rapids, Kathy (Mark) Wilkinson of Bitely, Gary (Karen) Kirk of White Cloud, Mark (Cheri) Kirk of Bitely, Phyllis (Michael) Walters of Huntington Woods, and Vonda Kirk of Big Rapids. Also surviving are eleven grandchildren: Bridget, Chad (Megan), Keith (Michele) Jason, Brad, Tracy (Frank), Jill, Heather, Kevin, Jordan and Kyle, six great grandchildren; Joey, Jaden, Layla, Katelynn, Gavin and Blake, two step great granddaughters, Tylea and Morgan, sister-in-law Doris Kirk and many nieces and nephews. Paul was preceeded in death by his parents, brothers Alexander Kirk and Orland Kirk; sisters Beatrice Sweet and Ada Kirk; and brother-in law Glen Sweet. Funeral services celebrating Pauls life will be 1:00 p.m., Friday, October 2, 2009 at Big Jackson Church of God, Pastor Ryan Shrable officiating. Burial will be in the Volney Cemetery, Beaver Township, Newaygo County. Visitation will be Thursday October 1, from 7-9p.m. at the Mohnke Funeral Home, Big Rapids.
