Paul Chester Larsen's Obituary
Edmore - Paul Chester Larsen, age 91, of Edmore passed away at his home on Saturday, November 12, 2022. He was born in Home Township on October 12, 1931, the son of Fred and Goldie (Holl) Larsen. Paul was raised in the Wyman area where he attended Edmore Public schools, graduating in 1949. He was employed as a tool and die maker for a total of 38 years by Carboloy, transitioning to General Electric and Hitachi Magnetics before his retirement in 1989. Paul married Elaine Soule on September 8, 1951, at the Blanchard Church of God. They spent 71 years together on their family farm in Wyman and were blessed with three children, five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Paul's passion was farming. He loved his cows and planting and cultivating crops. He loved spending winters in Arizona where he began playing horseshoes, continuing to participate in tournaments until he was 90. He also enjoyed camping and woodworking. Paul loved spending time with his family and especially fishing with his grandchildren. He was a member of the United by Faith Church in Wyman. Paul is survived by his wife, Elaine of Wyman; children, Steven (Patricia) Larsen of Edmore, Kathy (Kenneth) Goetsch of Honey Creek, WI, Diane (Robert) Christensen of Shelby, NC; grandchildren, Travis Larsen, Craig (Jamie), Chad, Curt (Anna) Christensen, Carrie (Daniel) Cochran; and 9 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Goldie; brother, Stanley Roomsburg; sisters, Gertrude Jensen and Jean Elliott. The family is so grateful for Spectrum Health Hospice of Grand Rapids and specifically Paul's nurses, Cindy and Amanda who became like family. He always looked forward to seeing them. Also appreciated is the love and care from family and friends during the past year. You were always ready to help us out. A memorial service for Paul will be held at 1:00PM on Friday, December 30, 2022, at the United By Faith Christian Church in Wyman with Pastor Craig Christensen officiating.
