Paul Snider's Obituary
Lifelong Remus resident, Paul George Snider passed away on the 24th of March, 2022.
Paul was born to Edward and Ruth (Wickenhiser) Snider on October 17th, 1950, brightening their world with his infectious smile. Living on the same farm all his days, Paul had a strong sense of place and family, never missing an opportunity to help a friend out. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing and especially farming with his beloved tractors.
Married on March 8, 1980, Paul and Cathy spent many happy years together, even in the long hours of a cab during some of Paul’s truck driving trips. Well known for their companionship, they never ended a disagreement without a laugh.
Paul was known for his love of games, especially card and board games, making sure participants knew when he came out the winner. A St. Michael’s Parishioner during his entire life, Paul could be found at any parish gathering and among the first in line for food, his stomach clock ticking away between feedings. To friends and family’s delight, Paul was famous for his homemade ice cream and fudge made from scratch. And ever a lover of food, he was known far and wide for antagonizing a waitress with his wry sense of humor and then leaving extra tips for their patience.
Preceding Paul in death were his parents, his stepson Neil Cook; brother James Snider and sister, Lucille Snider.
Left to carry on his memory are his bride, Cathy; Stepchildren Russell (Debra) Cook, and Angela (Robert) Cook-Hoekwater; Grandchildren, Jesse, Will, Levi, Danielle, Robert, Heather; Great-Grandchildren Caleb, Abel, Isabella, and Jasper; Sisters Catherine (Robert) Young and Betty Hansen.
In lieu of flowers, those desiring may direct memorial contributions to St. Michael School.
