Paula M Owen's Obituary
Paula Mary Owen, age 96 of Canadian Lakes, passed away Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at her home with family by her side. Cremation will take place with a private service to follow.
Paula was born December 3, 1920, in Detroit, MI, the daughter of John and Susan (Young) Corliss. She graduated from Chadsey High School in 1937. Shortly after her graduation, she began working as the general manager of Topinks Restaurant in Detroit for many years before obtaining her real estate license. She then went on to work for Real Estate One in Plymouth from 1975 to 1987, before her and husband, Ralph decided to move their family to Canadian Lakes. Not even close to being ready to retire, Paula then took a job as a realtor for Coldwell Banker in Canadian Lakes, up until her retirement in 2013.
She enjoyed golfing, gardening, selling real estate, and spending time with her grandchildren. It was recently discovered that flying was also an interest of hers after family found Paula’s pilot’s license.
Her thoughtful and loving nature will be greatly missed by her son, Joseph (Ann) Evanoff; sisters, Barbara (Phil) Ginotti and Coral Sington; grandchildren, Hannae and Matdisen, and many nieces and nephews.
Paula was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ralph in 2013; sister, Darryl (Ed) Stiles, and brother-in-law, Homer Sington.
Those desiring may direct memorial contributions to the Mecosta County Animal Rescue Coalition at 18400 220th Ave, Big Rapids, MI 49307.
