Peggy Armstrong Salgat's Obituary
Peggy Armstrong Salgat, 56, of Cadillac, MI, and more recently of Hulbert, MI, passed away unexpectedly on December 26, 2019 in Newberry, MI.
She was born May 29, 1963 in Rapid City, SD the daughter of Elden and Faye (Burkett) Armstrong. Peggy was born into an Air Force Family, which allowed her to see most of the US and Europe. She graduated from Big Rapids High School in 1981 and began her career in printing & design.
On February 15, 2002, she married her soul mate, Jay Salgat, who shared her passions for hunting, fishing, camping, kayaking, boating, and, of course, dogs. It was her love of the outdoors that led her to the U.P., where she enjoyed spending as much time as possible at Camp A on Johnson Lake in Eckerman, MI. All who knew Peggy knew of her incredible love of animals, especially Australian Shepherds, which was demonstrated by her involvement with many local animal shelters, ARPH (Aussie Rescue), and Australian Shepherd Rescue in Michigan. She made numerous two legged and four legged friends over the years and will be dearly missed by all.
Peggy is survived by her loving husband Jay; her beloved Australian Shepherds, Wyatt, Jessie, and Tripp; her sister and best friend, Joyce Armstrong; her mother and father-in-law, Jay & Janet Salgat; her brother and sister-in-law Brian & Jo Salgat; four nephews and one niece. She was preceded in death by both of her parents in 2015.
