Peter Ray Trumpower's Obituary
Lakeview - Peter Ray Trumpower, age 77, of Lakeview, Michigan (formerly of Lake Odessa), passed away on May 3, 2015 at Spectrum Health Fred and Lena Meijer Heart Center in Grand Rapids. Peter was born on July 2, 1937 in Lake Odessa, the son of Ray and Velma (Brooks) Trumpower. He was raised in Lake Odessa and graduated from Lake Odessa High School Class of 1955.
Peter worked in various positions in the oilfield, working for a number of companies including: HT Engineering inGrand Rapids, BKM Pipeline in Watford City, PIE Construction, and Kodiak Construction. He married Gloria Frances Haff on June 18, 1960 in Lansing. They had first met when Gloria was fourteen years old. Four years later her father, Francis Haff, officiated their wedding.
Peter loved to work, and he enjoyed tractors, horses, coffee shops, telling stories, and fishing when he had time.
Peter will be missed by his wife Gloria Trumpower of Lakeview; four sons, Ray (Cheryl) Trumpower of Fairview, Montana, Joseph (Val) Trumpower of Williston, North Dakota, Marc (Teresa) Trumpower of Williston, North Dakota, and Christopher (Rachael) Trumpower of Detroit; one sister Ann McClelland of Lansing; one brother-in-law Jon (Sandy) Haff of Potterville; grandchildren, Michelle Yeiter, Hollie Fetterhoff, Tricia Ray, Jenny Hovland, Kaila Kvasnicka, Mandy Saueressig, Joey Trumpower, Beth Trumpower, Shayla Trumpower, Chris Trumpower, Justin Hineline, Rylee and Declan Trumpower; great-grandchildren, Alicia, Terryn, Andrew, Kara, Achilles, Toni, Jerek, Beau, Ryan, Kodi, Casey, Elijah, Anna, and baby Saueressig; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Peter was preceded in death by his parents Ray and Velma Trumpower, Gloria's parents Francis and Frances Haff, and one brother-in-law David McClelland and one sister-in-law Jeanne D'Angelo.
Funeral services for Peter will be Saturday, May 9, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. with visitation one hour prior the service at Brigham Funeral Chapel in Lakeview, MI, with Pastors David Waid and Richard Kreft officiating. Visitation will be Friday, May 8, 2015 from 6:00-8:00 P.M. at the Funeral Home.
A luncheon will follow the funeral service at Lakeview FreeMethodist Church. Burial will take place at Lakeside Cemetery in Lake Odessa. Memorial Contributions in Peter's name may be made to Spectrum Health's Fred and Lena Meijer Heart Center.
