Peter A. Renne's Obituary
Big Rapids - Peter A. Renne, 75, of rural Big Rapids, went to be with his Lord on Saturday, April 21, 2018, after a 14-year battle with cancer.
He was born July 20, 1942, in Big Rapids, the son of Paul and Marie (Depuydt) Renne, and graduated from Morley-Stanwood High School in 1960.
Peter was a dairy farmer his entire life, working with his brother Walter, and he loved taking care of his cows. He was a former member of the Michigan Milk Producers Association (MMPA), and the Farm Bureau. Peter was also baptized at and was a lifelong member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Big Rapids.
Peter is survived by two sisters, Sister Mary Paula Renne of Mt. St. Joseph, OH, and Marian Stamper of Muskegon; two brothers, Walter Renne of Big Rapids and Leo Renne of Jackson; and many nieces and nephews, including a special niece Marlene Renne of big Rapids. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers John, David, and Lawrence Renne, and sisters Louise Renne and Anne Yost.
The Mass of Christion Burial for Peter will be celebrated 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at St Mary Catholic Church in Big Rapids, with Father Jager Fickel officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Peter's family will greet friends today (Tuesday, April 24)) from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Mohnke Funeral Home in Big Rapids, with a Rosary Service beginning at 7:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his name may be made to the church, or to Spectrum Health Hospice, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
