Phillip Fredrick Gibbons, Jr.'s Obituary
Edmore- Phillip "Phil" Fredrick Gibbons, Jr., age 51, of McBride, passed away on Friday, December 9, 2022, at his home. Phil was born on April 17, 1971, in Belding to Phillip and Kathy (Bennett) Gibbons. He was raised in the Stanton area and graduated from Central Montcalm High School in 1989. He served honorably in the United States Marine Corps. Phil married Jennipher Hart on June 12, 1999, in McBride. Phil was employed by FedEx and later by Greenville Public Schools as a custodian where he currently works. He was also co-owner of Gibbons AFC with Jennipher. They opened their home to many children as foster parents throughout the years. Phil enjoyed going on trips to the Upper Peninsula. He also enjoyed riding quads, rabbit and deer hunting, but most importantly, he enjoyed spending time with his children. He was a proud member of the Day Township Fire Department serving as fireman 534 and the American Legion of Stanton Post 452. Phil loved his family deeply and cherished their time spent together. Phil will be greatly missed by his beloved wife, Jennipher Gibbons of McBride; children and bonus children, Amber (Tommy) Beach of Edmore, Felicia (Andy) Braman of Blanchard, Caden Gibbons of McBride, Kamron Gibbons of McBride, Bonnie of McBride, Jamie of McBride, April (Joni) Gilbert of South Carolina; grandchildren, Christopher, Bentley, Blakely, Octivia, Harlee; mother, Kathy Hancock of Stanton; in-laws, Herbert and Connie Nelson of Arizona, Gordon and Bonnie Hart of Morley; siblings, Stanley Gibbons of Greenville, Tracy Gibbons of Edmore, Jody (Angel) Gibbons Sr. of Stanton, Mark (Mindy) Renolds of Stanton, Roberta (Buddy) Reed of Entrican, Rose Hoard of Crystal; several brother and sister in-laws and everyone who called him friend. Phil was preceded in death by his father, Phillip Gibbons Sr.; stepfather, Kenneth Hancock; grandparents, Violet Gibbons, Lena Bennett, and James Bennett. A service celebrating Phillip's life will take place at 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 17, 2022, at Ferris Church of Christ with Pastor Keith Mitchell officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Contributions in Phil's memory may be made to the Day Township Fire Department.
