Phillip Leo Mull's Obituary
Phillip Leo Mull, age 73, was born into eternal life Sunday, June 29, 2014, at Spectrum Hospital-Butterworth in Grand Rapids, MI.
Phillip was born December 2, 1940, to the late Elwin and Florence (Hillier) Mull. He attended high school at Arthur Hill Tech, graduating in 1959. Phillip was a hard worker for General Motors for 32 years, ensuring his family had everything they needed, and then some. His family always came first in life, which showed through his dedication to his wife, Elinor, whom passed away in July of 2011; and his love for his children, Phillip I. and Trina. Aside from family and work, Phillip enjoyed the outdoors, deer hunting when he could and laughing and playing with children. His last weeks and days spent here with family were some of the happiest he had experience over the past few years.
Phillip’s memory will live on through his daughter, Trina and her husband, Loren; brothers, Daniel and David; grandchildren, Nathaniel and Megan; and Mark Trissler, whom was Phillip’s “little brother” in the Saginaw county “Big Brothers, Big Sisters” program, where the two held the record for longest friendship recorded.
Sadly, Phillip was predeceased by his wife of 48 years, Elinor; son, Phillip I., whom passed away in May of 2014; and his parents.
A memorial service will be held in honor of Phillip, Elinor, and Phillip Ivan, Tuesday, July 29, at 11:00am, at the Messiah Lutheran Church, located at 1550 S. Poseyville Rd., Midland, MI 48640. Those desiring may direct memorial contributions to the Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Great Lakes Bay Region, 1910 Fordney St. Saginaw, MI 48601, or to the Renucci Hospitality House, which was generously made available to Phillip’s family during his stay at Butterworth Hospital, at 100 Michigan NE, MC004, Grand Rapids, MI 49503.
