Phyllis Aileene Cook's Obituary
Phyllis Aileene Cook, 88, passed away Monday, October 24, 2016 at Sheridan Community Hospital. Phyllis was born April 27, 1928 in Cedar Lake, MI the daughter of Arthur and Elsie (Mesick) Crockett. Phyllis was united in marriage to John J. Cook on January 7, 1950 in Stanton, MI; he preceded her in death on April 23, 2000. Phyllis was a very active member of the Faith United Methodist church in Edmore, MI. She enjoyed volunteering for most anything for her church. Phyllis enjoyed gardening and loved her church family. She especially enjoyed taking care of her family.
Phyllis is survived by her children; David (Cecelia) Cook of Lavonia, John W. Cook of Grand Rapids, Bill Cook of Grand Rapids and Jean (Douglas) Pierce of Cedar Springs, 2 grandchildren; Adam and Kelly Cook, 2 sisters; Margaret Royer of Alma and Darlys McCarthy of Cedar Lake, and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband, John a sister, Alice Armstrong and a brother, William Crockett.
Funeral Service for Phyllis will take place Saturday, October 29, 2016 at 11:00 AM from Faith United Methodist Church with Pastor Michael Riegler to officiate. Interment to follow in Vinewood Cemetery. Visitation will also take place Saturday one hour prior to the service. Those planning a memorial contribution are asked to consider Faith United Methodist Church.
