Rachel Jean Hilton's Obituary
Rachel Jean Hilton 87, of Blanchard MI, went to be with the lord May 28, 2018 at Mid-Michigan Health-Gratiot, Alma, MI. She was born September 12, 1930 in Saginaw, MI, the daughter of Julius G. and Mabel F. (Eddy) Schmidt. She married Zandalow A. Hilton Sr. on April 8, 1961, (who survives her). She graduated from Arthur Hill High School, Saginaw, in 1948 and retired as a Head Teller from Heritage Bank in 1991. She is survived by (her husband) and son Zandalow A. Hilton Jr. and wife Heidi of Caledonia, MI. Grandchildren Hunter, Marshall, and Ember Hilton and step-son Gary M. Hilton, Kingsville, MO. and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by daughter Juliana M. McCaw (Hilton), and sisters Beverly A. Bledsoe and Suzanne J. Baudoux.
Rachel loved to travel and enjoyed touring Europe while in her 20's and Mexico with Zan Sr. after retirement and many other destinations in between. She also loved to read. In fact, she was just as excited to get her hands on the newest Harry Potter book as the grandkids were. She was always in the middle of a cross-word puzzle or word-search too. She loved flowers and gardening and spending time outdoors with her family camping. Rachel had a big heart. She loved her family deeply. Her whole family, which would include those friends she and Zan met through the years. She loved all over her grandchildren, watching them and helping them to grow into loving, caring adults too. She had a special place in her heart for her poodles Coco and Nikki, who both preceded her in death, but were, I'm sure wagging their tails and waiting for her as she crossed over into her new life. Rachel will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
We will celebrate Rachels life on June 16, 2018 at 1:00pm at United by Faith Church, 2050 2nd St. Wyman, MI. 49310. We will have a luncheon immediately following the service. Service will be officiated by Mr. Jim McCorkle.
Memorial donations may be made to United by Faith Church or the American Heart Association.
