Randolph Jay Eckert's Obituary
Randolph Jay Eckert, age 51, of Big Rapids passed away Tuesday, June 26, 2012. He was born November 10, 1960 in Big Rapids, the son of Maynard and Clarissa (Sodergren) Eckert. Randy was honorably discharged from the U.S. Navy and was a member of Post 98 American Legion and Big Rapids AmVets Post 1941. He was self-employed as a handyman, working for several businesses in town. Randy was very good with fixing cars and he liked to hunt and fish. He is survived by his wife Bonnie, three children, Rebecca (Cory) Powell of Grand Rapids, Randolph Eckert of Mecosta, Vronica Eckert (Kelly Green) of Mecosta, four step children, Brock Binswanger, Arron (Tracy) Parson, Tony (Heather) Parson, Brianne Binswanger, 18 grandchildren, seven brothers and sisters, Linda (Tim) Taylor, Debra Eckert (Mike Bacon), Michael (GiGi) Eckert, Pamela Rozier, Maynard Eckert, Stacey (Mike) Fry, Tracy Eckert, plus many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Randy was preceded in death by his mother Clarissa and a twin sister Sandy. A memorial service for Randy will be 12:00 noon Monday July 2, 2012 at the Mohnke Funeral Home in Big Rapids with Pastor Ed Milam officiating. Memorial contribution may be made to the Grand Rapids Home for Veterans.
